The Boys Lacrosse Camp is designed for boys ages 8-14, grades 3-9, who are looking to learn the game of lacrosse in a competitive and fun atmosphere. Our camp consists of two groups. Our beginner section will learn to catch and throw and other basics of the game while our more advanced group will learn the finer points of the game.
During the week, we do our best to give the beginner players a chance to make the transition to the more advanced group where full equipment is required.
SPECIALIZED GOALKEEPING INSTRUCTION
There will be specialized goalkeeping instruction in the morning sessions. Each goalie will have one-on-one work with a goalkeeper instructor. The developing goalkeeper will be working specifically on body positioning, clean passing, and stick positioning. Please indicate if you are a goalie in the application.
Our low camper-to-counselor ratio allows each child to interact with the staff daily - to ask specific questions about individual skills, to develop a more accurate shot, and to improve game play.
What to Bring
Campers for all camps should dress so that you will be ready to participate actively in games and skill building activities. We recommend wearing shorts and a t-shirt or sweatshirt, depending on the weather. Your child's footwear should provide good lateral support and be appropriate for the sport in which he or she is signed up. Also add a pair of flip-flops or sneakers for the lunch break. In addition, you should bring an athletic bag with sun block, swimsuit, towel, change of clothes for the afternoon session, and jacket in case of rain. Finally, be sure to clearly label all items.
Required Equipment:
EQUIPMENT—Beginner: Campers must bring their mouth guard, cleats, and sneakers for potential indoor and/or turf play. A stick will be provided if needed.
EQUIPMENT—ADVANCED: Campers must bring their own stick, gloves, helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, arm pads, and cleats.
